On March 28, 2025, Beijing Satellite TV 4K Ultra HD Channel, the country’s first provincial satellite TV 4K Ultra HD channel, officially launched its trial broadcast. It currently covers cable TV and IPTV in 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across the country, reaching nearly 300 million household TV users. This marks the leap from trial broadcast to launch of the country's first satellite TV ultra-high definition channel, consolidating Beijing's leading position in the application of ultra-high-definition audiovisual technology and industrial development, and setting a "Beijing model" for the development of the national ultra-high-definition industry. From the launch of the trial broadcast to April 22, 2025, Beijing Satellite TV's ratings and viewership share have increased across the board. The response has been strong especially on the new media side. The number of views of Beijing Satellite TV's ultra-high-definition promotional video alone has reached 443 million.
